Microbiome analysis

Our group has ample experience in high-throughput microbiome analyses to study the bacterial (16S rRNA gene) and fungal communities (ITS) in clinical samples as well as in vitro biofilms.

We offer expertise for the entire analysis pipeline from sample preparation and sequencing (ing. M.J. Buijs), bioinformatics (dr. B.W. Brandt) to the interpretation of the results in a biological context (prof. dr. E. Zaura, dr. B.P. Krom, dr. D.M. Deng). See this overview image for more information, Kilian et al (2016) BDJ.
