Fridus van der Weijden is a dentist and periodontologist in a private clinic. His research interest is in the clinical prevention and therapy of gingivitis and periodontitis in order to prevent tooth lost. Van der Weijden has built up a large body of research in oral hygiene and periodontal therapy. He received from the Dutch association for oral health the Carl Witthaus medal in 2009.
