Regenerative & Reconstructive Dentistry

This priority area focuses on research into preserving and restoring chewing function at all stages of life. Within this priority area, the emphasis will be on: 

  • Tissue engineering and the use of ‘soft tissues’ for function restoration
  • The effect of gender and age differences on clinical success of e.g. implants
  • Adverse reactions of biomaterials, and stimulation of ‘self repair’
  • The potential of 3D printing for this research priority area.
