This priority area focuses on research into effective and efficient strategies to maintain and promote oral health and well-being of individuals and populations across their life course. The research has the individual centrally positioned, with the population being a collective - focusing on vulnerable groups in society.
This priority area emphasises research on:
- The development, evaluation and implementation of interventions and policies to prevent oral disease (of individuals, high-risk groups and the whole population) and reduce inequalities in oral health
- The promotion of the accessibility, effectiveness and quality of (preventive) oral health care (including guideline development, implementation and policy)
- The integration of oral health into existing healthcare and public health initiatives through inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration with citizens and care and welfare professionals
- Translating research findings from the other priority areas into improved self-care and public care
