Help build a healthy future
Working at ACTA
This is what we are concerned with
Patients
We think good care for patients is very important. We work hard at that every day in 9 clinics, including 7 referral clinics with specialist care. For example, we have a clinic for Children's Dentistry, as well as Endodontology (root canal treatments). Patients at the referral clinics are referred to these clinics by their dentist, GP or medical specialist. In the 2 teaching clinics, patients are treated for regular care by dental students. They do so under the supervision of a dental teacher.
Education
ACTA wants a healthy mouth for everyone. That is why we want to train dentists and dental specialists who can deal with different types of patients. Inspired dentists who know what to do in every situation, with science-based knowledge and skills. Dentists who collaborate with other healthcare providers, help prevent oral diseases and look beyond the mouth alone. In short, we want them to be involved in society after graduation, to practice their profession with passion and be ready for the future.
Research
ACTA's research is internationally renowned and always receives high ratings in research reviews. ACTA therefore ranks high in the QS World University Rankings by subject. Together with education and care, our research aims to contribute to the quality of life, close to home and worldwide. In our research we focus on 3 topics: prevention of oral diseases and population health, immune and oral health, and restoration and renewal of teeth and oral tissue.
Contract research and valorisation
At ACTA, we conduct scientific research to answer societal questions. Our goal is to improve oral health - and therefore general health - for everyone. We do this through different types of research: in the laboratory, in the early (pre-clinical) phase and with patients. All research is carried out by expert staff and complies with applicable laws and regulations.
