Working on societal issues and economic growth

Contract research and impact

One of ACTA's ambitions is to ensure that scientific research is used to address societal issues and achieve economic growth. Social impact is a component that is becoming increasingly important. For example, we strive to improve (oral) health in all levels of society. ACTA ensures that the results of research benefit society by:

Collaborating with Companies

With our contract research, we make our expertise available for collaborations with companies and organizations offering innovative products and services to improve oral health. We do this through pre-clinical research in our laboratories and patient-based research with subjects. All projects are conducted by qualified staff and comply with existing laws and regulations. ACTA has been a partner of leading companies (co-)innovating dentistry for many years. We work out of scientific interest for clients. This means that the result is usually a scientific publication that can be published in a relevant journal.

Communication

An important part of social impact is getting knowledge through to patients, practitioners, citizens, policy makers and interested parties. To do this, we use various communication tools such as: video, lectures, website and social media. For example, we show the diversity of our research in a number of short videos and take you through the stories of our colleagues to different projects. Our scientists also regularly appear as experts in various media. In this way, the non-scientific world is also informed about the latest developments in the field of oral health research.
